Zoe Saldana’s Calvins
(NEW YORK) Eva Mendes may have been the Calvin Klein girl of choice for the last several seasons, but with the news that Lara Stone would be stepping in as the face of Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Collection, that only left Underwear---and now, Zoe Saldana has snatched up that spot. The Avatar beauty and Francisco Costa muse (Saldana, along with Diane Kruger, was Costa’s date at this year’s Costume Institute Gala, and she accompanied him to the CFDA awards last year) has been named the face---and body---of Calvin Klein Underwear for Fall 2010. “Calvin Klein has always put forth such beautifully executed campaigns,” said Saldana in a release. “It’s very exciting for me to be associated with such an iconic, globally recognized brand like Calvin Klein Underwear.”
The Fall campaign was shot by Mikael Jansson in New York City and will coincide with the launch of October magazine issues. “We are excited to have Zoe Saldana as the face of Calvin Klein Underwear, and Calvin Klein Envy, our new product launch,” said Bob Mazzoli, chief creative officer of Calvin Klein Underwear. Envy, a new line of lingerie from the brand, offers multiple levels of cup coverage and strap and band width for a more custom fit: Envy (coverage level 1), the most revealing, Perfectly Fit (coverage level 2), with mid-level coverage, and Seductive Comfort (coverage level 3), which offers the most support. “Zoe brings the campaign to life,” continued Mazzoli, “and her universal appeal will enable us to continue to expand our dialogue with our consumers worldwide.”
