Will The Next "It Bag" Be By Roland Mouret?

(NEW YORK) Roland Mouret has made a name for himself designing figure-flattering dresses that have had ladies of luxury as well as A-list celebs like Halle Berry, Demi Moore and Scarlett Johansson clamoring to wear his designs. Now, the designer is making his foray into the much profitable accessory niche with a new handbag line, set to launch sometime in June. The luxe quartet of carryalls will feature four different styles.
While Mouret has been designing for 15 years, he just recently made a comeback under his own name, after a split with investors left him designing under the label of RM by Roland Mouret. He reacquired his name in 2010, and since then has said that business has been expanding with double-digit growth. The classically chic bags, which debuted on his Fall runway, will range from $1,195 to $2,595. If the success of his dresses is any indication, their handbag counterparts are going to be a hit.
