What I Bought! With Marie Claire's Kyle Anderson
(NEW YORK) Kyle Anderson returns! After weeks of runway reviews in New York, Milan, Paris, and even Zurich, our jet-lagged columnist checks in to recap 24 hours of unbridled shopping bliss during Paris Fashion Week. How much moolah did the Marie Claire accessories director plunk down in one day? 10,153 euros, baby!
During the three weeks I was in Europe for the Fall collections, I had just one free day, right when we arrived in Paris. I met my friend Simon, who is a model and jewelry designer in Paris, for a shopping day. We immediately went to Starbucks because Milan has no such thing, and you know I'm addicted to my Chai iced lattes. I think Simon had a green tea. For some reason, he doesn't eat any unhealthy foods. I was trying to get inspired by that, but it hasn't really been happening. Hence, the doughnut.
COFFEE RUN, STARBUCKS: 9 euros
Post-coffee, we walked to Givenchy, another favorite of mine. It was nice to have someone to go shopping with me. First of all, I was jet-lagged (and remained jet-lagged for the entire three weeks). Also, it’s nice to get a second opinion. I usually wear only black and Simon pretty much does too, so he's the perfect person to shop with. I bought a T-shirt with a lei of Rottweilers and flowers, a shark's tooth necklace, a necklace that looks like a keychain, a cropped sweater, and a black leather bag. Afterwards, we trekked to Paris' Japanese district for noodles and sushi. He had a water, and I had a Coke.
SHOPPING, GIVENCHY: 3,250 euros
LUNCH: 35 euros
Where do you go after Givenchy? Jil Sander, of course! I bought an embroidered t-shirt then went back to Starbucks (addiction!) for a green tea—no doughnut. Then we went to the Montaigne Market, and I bought a black diamond bracelet from Shambala. It was 10,000 euros, but I've wanted it for a long time, and my boyfriend paid half of the price. Maybe we'll share it. On the other hand, it's black, so I’ll probably wear it every day! We walked to Prada after that, where I picked up one shirt: a jeweled button down. I’ll probably regret buying so much Prada stuff, but I'm been wearing the three pairs of golf shoes I bought on a daily basis. So far, so good!
SHOPPING, JIL SANDER: 450 euros
SHAMBALA BRACELET: 5,000 euros
PRADA: 1,320 euros
For dinner, we met up with Bryan Boy and went to Cafe Ruc. Bryan and I both ordered cheeseburgers and fries. I had a Coke, Bryan had wine, and Simon had water and a salmon dinner with salad. Dessert came in the form of a double order of chocolate cake and ice cream. Since this was my only free day, I loved just walking around in the sunny weather. The best way to spend a day in Europe with friends!
DINNER, CAFE RUC: 89 euros
N.Y. shopping adventures coming soon, as it seems spring is in the air....stay tuned!
