What I Bought! With Marie Claire's Kyle Anderson
Patrick McMullan View Gallery
(NEW YORK) Kyle Anderson is a chic creature of habit, in case you hadn't noticed: iced libations at Starbucks, jaunts to Barneys and BG, and a new Givenchy T make the cut this time around. The only thing missing this weekend? The Marie Claire accessories director's typical intake of Koreatown noshes! (That's OK, it's nice to mix it up every once in a while). Abstaining from kimchee doesn't make much of a dent in Anderson's weekend expenditures, however: He racked up $2,404.10 by last eve, bringing the grand tally of nearly every weekend since November to a cool $55,074.42...
After work, I took a taxi to meet my friends for dinner at The Standard Grill. We had reservations for 9 p.m. but because I had a busy day at my desk, I was a bit late. I ordered all of my favorite items: a lamb dinner, a side of fries, chocolate cake, a Penny Drop, a Dark 'n Stormy, and sparkling water. Then we went to the Boom Boom Room, where I had a mojito that I didn't pay for. Afterwards, I took a taxi home.
TAXI: $7.60; $9
DINNER, THE STANDARD GRILL: $125
I woke up, watched Fashion Police on E!, went to Starbucks for an iced chai latte, and headed to the gym, where I ran/walked four or so miles and showered. On my walk to the office, I picked up another chai at Starbucks. Once I was done at the office, I headed to Barneys and Bergdorf, but I didn’t find anything new.
I met my friend at Barneys for lunch I had a salad, iced coffee, and sparkling water. I didn't pay...Then, I walked home and watched some TV. My BF and I decided to go to Mr. Chow for dinner. He hadn't been in years, and I've been a few times recently and had fun. I had crunchy beef, two Bloody Marys, a salad, and coconut ice cream. (My BF paid. The total was $200 or so.) We walked to and from Mr. Chow for a bit of cardio.
When I went home, I watched two episodes of Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding, which I had recorded earlier last week. Then I went to bed...
TWO ICED CHAI LATTES, STARBUCKS: $8.50 ($4.25 each)
I woke up and headed to Starbucks; I only ordered a plain iced coffee. Then I went to the gym and walked/ran for three miles, in addition to doing some free weights. I went to pool in my building for a bit, and was so tired afterwards. I fell asleep in front of the fireplace for an hour on the sofa, took a shower, and watched that movie with Lindsay Lohan where the guy cuts her arms off. After that, I did some online shopping: I ordered a a Balmain denim jacket and a Givenchy shirt from SSENSE.com. I have the Givenchy shirt in white, but I didn’t know it came in black. My BF will pay half and we'll share it. I generally hate white shirts! The week after I buy it and wear it, now it's available in black. I was thinking about buying a chair from Restoration Hardware. I love everything there, but it's all so similar, which makes it hard to decide. After my online shopping, I did some organizing at home. For dinner I went to Chipotle for a chicken burrito, chips, and guacamole. It was extra salty and I loved every minute of it; I didn’t pay. For dessert I had vanilla ice cream with almonds and chocolate sauce. After that I felt sick, so I laid in my bed watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Mad Men.
ICED COFFEE, STARBUCKS: $2.50
BALMAIN DENIM JACKET: $1,475
GIVENCHY T SHIRT: $785
**Total weekend expenses: $2,404.10. Total weekend tally since November: $55,074.42
