What I Bought! With Marie Claire's Kyle Anderson
(NEW YORK) Think your weekend tab tally was topping the charts? Au contraire. Over the course of Saturday and Sunday, Marie Claire's newest accessories director, and weekly Daily columnist, Kyle Anderson racked up a whopping 9K. Well, $9,084.75 to be exact. No biggie. Check our Gallery for the photographic evidence!
SATURDAY
I woke up and went to the gym downstairs in my building; I ran a couple of miles and went to the pool. Then I got ready and headed out to meet some friends and run some errands. There's a Starbucks a block from my apartment, so I had my usual grande chai iced latte.
COFFEE, STARBUCKS: $2.95
Next, I went to buy a few things at Saks that I've had my eye on for a few weeks. I basically like 95 percent of the coats from Burberry Prorsum, but I decided on a red coat that I've liked from their runway show they had a few months ago.
SHOPPING TRIP, SAKS:
Burberry Prorsum coat: $3,195
Dsquared2 denim shirt: $565
Dsquared2 leather pants: $1,725
Neil Barrett coat: $1,565
Later in the day, I met two of my friends, Bryanboy and Andrej Pejic, for lunch at The Capital Grille. It's located between Saks and my apartment, and I love their lobster salad. I went a couple of times last summer since was in my [old] office building on 50th Street... I thought I would treat my two ladies to lunch as Bryan is in town for a few days and Andrej is going to Japan for five weeks of work, which sounds crazy because it'll be Christmas or New Years before he is back.
BRYAN'S DINNER:
Seared tuna: $29
Steamed asparagus: $10
ANDREJ's DINNER:
Tea: $2.50
Seared tuna: $29
Sauteed spinach: $10
MY DINNER:
Iced coffee: $2.75
Lobster salad: $20
After we ate, I went home to drop off my stuff, which was super heavy. Plus it was freezing out. I watched some TV and walked to Around the World to buy the new Vogue Paris and the December issue of Harper's Bazaar UK. They're two of my favorites. I love the shopping guides in Bazaar UK and the amazing fine jewelry editing in Vogue Paris.
MAGAZINES:
Vogue Paris: $15.95
Harper's Bazaar UK: $9.99
I came back to my house to chill for a couple of hours and watched AbFab reruns I had DVR-ed from Logo. I went back out to go to dinner with some of my gays to Pulino's (282 Bowery Street), while still trying to figure out if I would really go ''out'' tonight. I ordered ravioli and a Peroni beer; my friend had an apple salad. Then I took a taxi back to my house in Times Square.
TAXI: $11.76 (to dinner); $13.30 (from dinner)
DINNER, PULINO'S:
Two meals: $42.46
Final decision: Not going out. I've had a sore throat all day. I stopped by CVS across the street and bought a bag of cough drops.
CVS:
Halls cough drops: $4.79
SUNDAY
I had a photoshoot for Schön! Magazine UK with a call time of 9 a.m., so I met my assistants at my house at around 7:45 a.m. By 8:30 a.m., we left in two separate taxis with all of my stuff and started setting up at Divine Studio at 21 E. 4th Street, Suite 605.
MAGAZINE SHOOT:
Taxis: $13 (to shoot); $11.86 (from shoot)
Studio rental for one day: $1,200
Starbucks coffees and snacks for my assistants and me: $24.77
The shoot was only a couple of hours. We shot five new boys from Major Models for an editorial. We needed lollipops for one of the pics, so one of the girls ran to Walgreens. We used one in a photoshoot and we each had one as a snack then took two taxis back to my apartment in midtown after waiting 40 minutes for an available taxi.
WALGREENS:
Bag of assorted lollipops: $1.62
Two taxis: $12.20 and $14.82
They went home and I took a nap. When I woke up, I met four of my friends at the Dream Downtown's rooftop bar, PH-D. I went there earlier in the week and the appetizers are so good. Each of the little seating areas is kind of like your own private space, which is nice. We ordered:
4 Ketel One with soda
3 Grey Goose with soda
1 Maker's Mark on the rocks (That's a "Dream girl" cocktail.)
1 guacamole
1 tuna tartare
1 buffalo slider
1 shrimp cocktail
1 crispy calamari
1 mini burger set
1 crab cake
3 white russians
1 dessert platter
DINNER, DREAM DOWNTOWN:
Table tab: $507.50
Taxi (back to my house): $7.43
Hope everyone had a great weekend, too!
