Valentino's Virtual Museum Gets Rebooted
(NEW YORK) Last November, the fashion set was abuzz about the Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum's December 2011 launch; now, nearly one year later, the digital museum launched a new website. The original site was designed to mirror the layout of an actual museum, allowing users to explore galleries and wings showcasing over 300 archived Valentino dresses. The updated website will give access to a browser version of the museum, which was previously only available as a downloadable application. Additionally, the homepage will showcase up-to-date and inspirational content from the famed fashion designer in three sections; News, Pics of the Week, and In the Press.
What can visitors expect from the revamp? Two new videos have been added to the “Events & Exhibitions” section, including exclusive footage from Valentino’s collaboration with the New York City Ballet as well as the presentation of his most recent honor, Commandeur de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres, in Paris. The new website launch coincides with the “Valentino: Master of Couture" exhibit opening at Somerset House in London this Thursday.
