Tonchi Confirmed at W
(NEW YORK) As The Daily exclusively reported on Thursday, March 18, Stefano Tonchi has been named editor-in-chief of W magazine. The announcement came to the T staff just a few minutes past 11:30 a.m., and the W staff is in a meeting right this very minute (as of 11:45 a.m.). Expect updates imminently.

UPDATE, 11:54 a.m.: A replacement for Tonchi at T has not yet been named.
UPDATE, 12:13 p.m.: According to the New York Times, Tonchi's first day at W will be April 12. It remains unclear if he will be able to bring T staffers with him to W. The W staff will move offices from 750 Third Avenue to 1166 Avenue of the Americas.
UPDATE, 12:21 p.m.: Dommage for Joe Zee, Kate Betts, and, uh, media scoopster Keith Kelly.
UPDATE, 12:28 p.m.: From Condé's official announcement: “Stefano Tonchi is an extraordinarily versatile editor whose expertise in the world of art, fashion, design, and entertainment will help W realize its full potential in both print and digital formats,” said Mr. Wallace. “We welcome him back to Condé Nast.”
