Thom Browne Rolls Out A Collection Of Classics

(NEW YORK) Thom Browne is going classic with a new fall line. Straying away from flood-water pants and close cropped shapes, this new collection will be Browne’s take on the timeless gray suit. So what will be changing? Proportions will be on the standard side of things: pants that hit below the ankle, wider lapels and longer jackets. The new collection will be titled Thom Browne, while the designer's RTW line that trots out on the runway will be rebranded as Thom Browne New York.

As for the variation, expect two suit styles, two overcoats and three different shirts in the likes of wool flannel, worsted wool and step twill. With a price point starting at $350, the collection will mingle on the racks among the men’s clothing in select high-end department stores, not in the designer section. Similar to his high-end line, the wares are available as made-to-measure and are fully produced within the United States. However, the Thom Browne collection will be far from commercial. In a statement to WWD, the designer explained: “The word [commercial] has negative connotations. It will still have the same quality as my collection, but it will broaden the business.”
