Things to Discuss Right Now: Tonchi Time at W
(NEW YORK) Was it only yesterday that Condé Nast announced Patrick McCarthy's departure from the EIC position at W, and the formerly Fairchild magazine's return to the Condé Nast umbrella? It appears that a new editor in chief will be named---imminently---and according to well-placed Daily sources, that masthead will likely be topped by none other than Stefano Tonchi. The well-loved editor (to both his colleagues and the advertising community) has already propelled T, his launch title, into the ad-rev stratosphere---relatively speaking---and sans doute, Condé's top types have been watching. Is a massive shake-up in the works? The heavens may tremble---and neither Tonchi nor a publicist for W responded to requests for comment---but meanwhile, 4TS types, keep a lookout for a memo from Tom Wallace.
