THINGS TO DISCUSS! Fall 2010 Principe Principals
Sure, there’s the Grand, the Palace, the Diana (still a Sheraton), and even the Four Seasons (toujours a Four Seasons), but come Milan Fashion Week, even the man on the street knows there is only one legit spot to camp out—the divine Principe di Savoia. The view? So-so. The outdoor space? Lackluster at best. But in these eight towers, le tout la mode bunkers down for 4 nights—5, if you’re lucky. You’re still checking in, but here’s Chic’s pick for this season’s predicted Principe Principals:
1) Kate Lanphear. The most loyal habitué at the world-famous bar, which has recently been remodeled so guests can actually sleep.
2) Alexandra Shulman. We haven’t spotted her yet, but the British Vogueitrix has to get her vin blanc somewhere, n’est pas. Aliona Doletskaya is close second...
3)Karl Templer. He just is this place. Don’t ask us to explain.
4)The entire Dolce & Gabbana press team, and the celebs they wrangle. We miss Ali, who once famously brought Freida Pinto to the bar circa 1 a.m., but maybe we’ll actually meet those L.A. celebrity services darlings we get so many emails from.
5) Ken Downing and Linda Fargo. The salad to order: corn, butter lettuce, avocado, cherry tomatoes, oil and vinegar on the side. You didn’t hear it from us!
