(NEW YORK) The Daily Dan, the weekly Hamptons glossy created by East End newspaper of record Dan's Papers and chic set chronicler The Daily Front Row, is gearing up for its second season. Publishing twelve issues from Memorial Day to Labor Day, The Daily Dan’s cheeky-chic elixir captures the locals and the summer set with equal zeal, delivering the essential buzz on what rocks the Hamptons. The magazine is distributed every weekend at restaurants, shops, resorts, private clubs, galleries, and transportation epicenters around the East End.
For the 2012 season, acclaimed fashion designer Nicole Miller has been named The Daily Dan's food editor. A lifelong entertainer, informed by the tastes and techniques of her mother's native France, Miller is an accomplished home cook. She frequently hosts dinner parties at her homes in New York City and Sag Harbor, and attendees include notable members of Miller's inner circle such as Jay McInerney, April Gornik and Eric Fischl. In each issue of The Daily Dan, Miller will discuss new restaurants, seasonal preparations of her signature dishes, insider resources for the best produce, meat, and seafood on Long Island, and tricks and tips on entertaining.
Additionally, Leslie Klotz, a year-round Hamptons resident who has bought, restored, and sold a trove of properties in the region, has been named contributing editor and home & design columnist. Her weekly “Design Fix” pages will celebrate her current obsessions in the market, and she will also contribute intel to the “Real Estate Fix” while producing at-home features with notables in the worlds of film, publishing, fashion, finance, and the arts. Additionally, well-known Avenue magazine social scribe and fashion aficionado Debbie Bancroft will be peppering The Daily Dan’s party pages with live coverage from the East End’s hautest spots. George Gurley, longtime Observer columnist and writer for the likes of Vanity Fair, as well as author of George & Hilly: The Anatomy of a Relationship, has been named contributing editor. The first issue of The Daily Dan debuts on Friday, May 25.
