The BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Shortlist
(NEW YORK) The British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund shortlist has been released and includes Roksanda Ilincic, Mary Katrantzou, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto and Emilia Wickstead. One of the five designers will win a 12-month mentorship as well as approximately $324,000 cash. Expect the 2013 winner to be announced next month.
The mentorship program is entering its fourth year; it was initially established to help designers grow their brands both creatively and financially. The fund was started by BFC chairman Harold Tillman, who will step down from the BFC in January after five years. Tillman will be succeeded by Net-a-Porter founder, Natalie Massenet. Since its inception circa 2008, previous winners of the fund have included Erdem, Christopher Kane, and Jonathan Saunders.
