(NEW YORK) Target is locking in its one-stop-shop status by unveiling The Shops at Target, a rotating lineup of mini boutiques featuring limited-edition, affordable merch sold exclusively online and in stores. The first coterie of collaborators include San Francisco’s The Candy Store, Aspen's Cos Bar cosmetics shop, Boston's Polka Dog Bakery for pooch-friendly accessories, Connecticut's Privet House for home goods and The Webster, Miami's hautest designer den. The first roll-out will launch May 6 in New York with 400 products, ranging from $1 to $160. After a six week period, a new set of U.S. favorites will join the fold.

In other news, Target will also test out Apple shops in 25 Target locations with exclusive Apple products to bolster declining electronic sales. Following the Target Corp. announcement this morning, Target shares rose 17 cents to $49.20.
