Spring Break: Wedding Designers Unwind
Patrick McMullan View Gallery
(NEW YORK) From the editors at Brides magazine! Bridal designers and industry insiders dish on where they're headed post-Bridal Week and what they're wearing (and drinking!) once they get there.
Brian Atwood, shoe designer
Spring break: My spring trip was to Turks and Caicos, where I did a lot of yoga.
Favorite drink: Rosé with lots of ice!
Outfit of choice: My favorite vacation attire is a bathrobe, nothing else.
Alice Temperley, designer
Spring break: I just returned from a spa trip to Thailand with my four-year-old son. I have a work trip coming up to the Middle East, where I’ll try to fit in a short adventure with some camels, then I’m off to Ibiza with my sister and friends.
Favorite drink: Carrot juice at the spa and crisp rosé anywhere else.
Outfit of choice: I live for a great bikini, an easy throw-on sundress, a wide-brimmed straw hat, and my vintage “gold”-plated 1945 Ray-Ban sunglasses.
Mark Ingram, owner of Mark Ingram Atelier
Spring break: My spring getaway is my apartment in Miami Beach, overlooking the water.
Favorite drink: A lichi martini.
Outfit of choice: I’m addicted to white jeans, so the minute I hit anywhere tropical, they’re on. Also, a fine-gauge cotton V-neck sweater in an interesting color like coral, pistachio, or blood orange. I tie it around my waist or drape it over the shoulders. That’s my signature look!
Lela Rose, designer
Spring break: After bridal-market week, I’m traveling to Punta Mita in Mexico for some sun and surf. Sayulita, the next town over, is very bohemian, with fun shopping.
Favorite drink: A muddled mango margarita.
Outfit of choice: Colorful printed shorts from our ready-to-wear collection with a featherweight cotton-linen button-down shirt and a fun necklace.
Marcy Blum, wedding planner
Spring break: For me, bridal season is 365 days per year, so I don’t get a break, but I do plan to spend a few evenings catching up with friends.
Favorite drink: I love Domaines Ott, of course, but I also love Whispering Angel from a magnum—particularly when someone else is buying!
Outfit of choice: When I can get away, all I need is a pareu and a book to cover my face while I sleep in the sun.
Reem Acra, designer
Spring break: I have been traveling for the past six weeks, but I unwind while I design the new bridal collection.
Favorite drink: A glass of white wine.
Outfit of choice: My must-have silk pajamas.
