(NEW YORK) One of the busiest publicists in the business, Shawna Rose has spent the past eight years as director of communications for the Americas at Christian Louboutin, and her efforts have been instrumental in bringing the red sole from near-obscurity into Karadashian-esque ubiquity. Now, she's moving on. Effective November 1, Rose will begin her new position as global communications director at Kimberly McDonald. "Clearly, this is a bittersweet decision, as Christian is like a brother to me, as well as having been an unparalleled mentor," she said. " He will continue to be a good friend, and I am grateful to be able to take what I've learned about growing a brand (and a boutique luxury company) along with me, to work with a new designer as we expand and grow."
McDonald, a North Carolina native who launched her fine jewelry collection in 2007, has quickly emerged as one of the industry's most rainmaking designers. Best known for her geode pieces, which are often set in diamonds and other precious stones, she is sold at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Browns in London, Neapolitan Collection in Chicago, and FortyFiveTen in Dallas. Next up for McDonald? A home collection and a West Coast boutique in Spring 2012. Stay tuned!
