Roland Mouret Named Creative Director of Maison Robert Clergerie
(NEW YORK) Roland Mouret has been appointed as the new creative director of Robert Clergerie. The French designer has worked chez Clergerie in the past, and the brand's founder couldn't be happier. "I’m delighted to see Roland Mouret at the head of the creation of the Maison that I created," shared Monsier Clergerie in a statement. "It is a great symbol to see such perspectives, with a talent who already knows and loves our company.” Mouret seconded his mentor's sentiments. "For so many people it’s such an important brand and held in the highest affection, as is Robert Clergerie himself. This is a chance for me to work with a master on the art and craft of shoe design and to be part of the special relationship that women have with their shoes," he said. In other news, Mouret opened his flagship boutique in February in London's Mayfair to house his complete menswear and womenswear collections.
