NYFW Fall 2013: Ralph Lauren
(NEW YORK) Ralph Lauren
A la vielile Russie! China, Spain, and now Russia: Mr. Lauren truly takes his inspiration from le monde, darlings. In the latest transportive, wanderlust-inducing jaunt, opulence was the M.O. White ruffled shirts with black neckties, rich velvet dresses in burgundy and forest green, and sumptuous, long fur coats and fur ushanka hats were the garb of these gorgeous Dostoyevsky-esque dames. Eveningwear came in regal ruched and ruflle-skirted gowns with fur and feather stoles, with drame underpinning the whole spate of looks. The finale? A snowy champagne beaded tulle gown with a shearling capelet and matching hat with opera-length gloves and chandelier earrings, trotted out on Daria Stroukos. Da-ying!
