(NEW YORK) May has been a memorable month for Naomi Campbell. The supermodel appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and now, she is Cannes to celebrate her 40th birthday with a giant blowout on May 22. And she’s also just initiated a new charity project, NEON. Campbell founded the organization last month, and she hopes to raise at least $1 million for two Russian charities that provide education, training and medicine for young children in Moscow and beyond. "I'm living here and everyone has been very nice to me and welcoming," said Campbell. "I wanted to give back."

Campbell's first major NEON initiative includes a collaboration with the country’s top designer, Igor Chapurin. Chapurin, one of Campbell's close friends, teamed up with her organization by exclusively designing its logo T-shirts. This is not the first time two friends have collaborated. Last October, Campbell exclusively walked in the Chapurin Spring 2010 show in Paris.
