(NEW YORK) What do Mischa Barton and the Duchess of Cambridge have in common? James Middleton, for starters! Last night, the 26-year-old actress-turned-designer feted the opening of her first-ever London boutique in Spitalfields Market alongside Kate's dapper younger brother and close family and friends, including her moppy-haired actor boyfriend Sebastian Knapp, her sister Zoe, and model and actress Tolula Adeyemi.
Barton's first foray into the fashion world came in 2008 with an eponymous handbag line, now in its ninth season. In May she debuted her clothing line in Dubai brimming with vintage-style skirts, ultra-femme frocks, leggings, jumpsuits, and signature separates like the "Mischa" jacket—all loosely based on her own boho style and priced between $45 and $450. Earlier this year, she launched her full-fledged e-comm website, Mischa's Place, in the U.S. and the U.K. housing her accessory, handbag, cosmetic, and clothing lines.
The Mischa Barton boutique will open its doors tomorrow on 53 Brushfield Street with an official public launch on Saturday, August 11, where fans can meet-and-greet with Barton between 1 and 4 p.m. and enjoy a 10 percent discount on all in-store purchases. As for the on-rack assortment, there's a little something for everyone. "There are some very young pieces, some more sophisticated, mature pieces, and also some quirky stuff that's more like my wardrobe," she told British Vogue. "There are plenty of pieces for people who don't just want to dress like Mischa."
