Karl Lagerfeld Embraces Oktoberfest

(NEW YORK) In keeping with his German roots, Karl Lagerfeld plans to launch a Bavarian themed capsule collection under his namesake line, coinciding with the 180th celebration of Oktoberfest. While dedicated drinkers spend the 16-day festival imbibing vast quantities of beer, The Kaiser will be unveiling a dirndl that plays on the classic German design, complete with a frilly white blouse and pinafore. The Lagerfeld twist? The flouncy, décolletage-emphasizing frock is done in black leather. Edgy! The collection will be on sale at Lagerfeld’s recently-opened Berlin concept store and will hang on the racks at his Munich store, which will open its doors in September. If Oktoberfest isn't on your to-do list, the getup certainly has a few years worth of Halloween mileage to it, non?
