(NEW YORK) Glamour went to Oz to find Anne Christensen's successor: Jillian Davison is joining the masthead as the glossy’s new fashion director, effective January 2014. Davison is returning to the States after a stint spent in Australia. She’s joining Glamour after a year-long jag as creative director at Vogue Australia. Prior to that, she was fashion director at Harper’s Bazaar Australia, a position she started in 2010. She also spent six years as a contributing editor at Teen Vogue and was fashion editor at the American edition of Harper’s Bazaar from 2000 to 2003.
Due to the recent hire, Sasha Iglehart, deputy fashion director at Glamour, will now oversee all market work and daily duties of the fashion department. Inglehart's title will remain the same; she will report directly to Davison.
“[Davison] has a real vision for American fashion, and will steer our fashion coverage forward during an exciting time of dynamic growth for the brand,” said Glamour’s EIC, Cindi Leive, in a statement. Last week, Christensen’s departure from the glossy was announced. She had been the fashion director there since 2011 and has yet to announce her next move.
Back down under, Christine Centenera will be stepping into the role of fashion director at Vogue Australia. The street style darling (and mentee of Davison) is being promoted from her position as senior fashion editor at the magazine. She joined the glossy at the same time Davison did, and was also in charge of launching Miss Vogue, a Teen Vogue-esque young adult version of the fashion mag.
