InStyle to Launch Italian Edition?

(NEW YORK) Italy may get the InStyle treatment this year, according to sources in Milan. The Time Inc. glossy is purportedly set to expand its global cadre of 17 editions via Italian publishing house Mondadori, which counts the original iteration of Grazia plus Flair among its stable of style titles.
In the U.S., the title reported plummy numbers for last year, outselling 98 percent of the 663 titles listed with the ABC Rapid Report, including all the big guns—well, all of the competition, actually—in the fashion category. To wit: In 2011, InStyle's newsstand sales averaging 566,000 copies per month, boasted 212,000 more copies sold than Vogue and 159,000 more copies sold than Elle, Harper's Bazaar, and W combined. Last year also marked the mag's third consecutive year at the top of the ad sales heap for the entire fashion category.
Currently, InStyle's out-of-States iterations include Australia, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Korea, Mexico, France, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and the U.K. Its first international edition bowed in Germany circa March 1999 with a young Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover; an Australian version debuted in 2000, followed by a U.K. iteration in 2001.
