(NEW YORK) H&M is on a roll. The Swedish behemoth is expanding its fast fashion empire this week with a new shopping outpost located at the Shops at Columbus Circle inside New York City's Time Warner Center. To fete the official opening on Thursday, the retailer will premiere its highly anticipated Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection, marking the first time the company has simultaneously debuted a store and a designer collab in the U.S.
"The collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela is really exciting, because it's an amazing archive of some of their most incredible pieces throughout history, and it's also full of trends that work for right now," said H&M's creative director Margareta van den Bosch to The Daily. "There's a real minimalist feeling. The tailoring in the collection is amazing, like in the narrow shouldered jacket. The trompe l’oeil tattoo top is perfect for the all-over print trend, and there are so many wide leg trousers, which are another big trend this season."
H&M at Time Warner will be a one-stop shop for stocking up on goodies for the whole fam: the store features women's, men's, and teen sections, plus a separate shop-in-shop for accessories and children's. This location will also be the first in Manhattan to feature an exclusive men’s shop with its own separate entrance. “Since opening our first ever store in the United States on New York City’s Fifth Avenue in 2000, Manhattan has always been one of the most important markets for the brand not just in the U.S. but worldwide,” said H&M's U.S. president Daniel Kulle in a press release. “We could not be more honored to open in such an iconic and culturally significant location as the Time Warner Center.”
To top it off, H&M at Time Warner Center will be gifting the first 500 shoppers in line a T shirt and an "Access to Fashion Pass," valued between $10 and $500. Plus, one lucky shopper will receive the ultimate prize: an "All Access Fashion Pass," which grants the winner early entry into the store before the doors open to receive a one-on-one style consultations from an H&M stylist. Joie! Doors open at 8 a.m. on Thursday, November 15.
