Eres Goes Even More Global
(NEW YORK) Eres, the chic skivvies and swimwear line owned by Chanel, has an ambitious spate of far-flung store openings pegged for the upcoming month and beyond. An outpost in Kiev is set to debut on November 25; one week later, Eres' first St. Barth's location will open on December 1. Russia is a market of particularly high interest to the French brand—in August, Eres unveiled a dedicated shop in Moscow's Tsum department store.
Currently clocking in at 29 directly-operated boutiques and franchises, the high-end underpinnings and beach-ready label flung open its doors in Istanbul in September. That same month, a special "partnership boutique" arrived in Antwerp, as the sophomore Belgium locale, complementing its Brussels location.
Eres was founded in Paris in 1968. Last month, the brand opened its tenth location on home turf, in the French town of Lille. Each year, Eres churns out approximately 80 water-ready designs. Punchy color picks have become one of the brand's hallmarks, as have the brand's secret cocktail of Spandex and polyamide, in styles sold as separates for optimal fit satisfaction. The brand was purchased by Chanel in 1996; two years later, Eres expanded into lingerie. Prices start well over $200 and can hit nearly three times that amount for certain styles of swimwear; Eres' cuts err on the side of sophisticated and relatively demure.
Don't expect a Manhattan outpost anytime soon (NYC Eres fanatics can find the label at Barneys, or during the summer months in a petite East Hampton storefront). But other U.S. locations opened within the past year including last spring's freestanding spots in Las Vegas, at Crystals CityCenter, and in Toronto.
