DVF, the Album?
(NEW YORK) She may be a real-life wonder woman, but no—Diane von Furstenberg is not about to launch her own musical career. She is, however, releasing a compilation album titled “Proud to be Woman” to benefit Vital Voices, an organization dedicated to the empowerment of women. Joss Stone, Mary J. Blige and Estelle all make appearances on the album, which will be available on Monday, March 8, at DVF boutiques worldwide, DVF.com and for download on iTunes at itunes.com/dvf. The album release corresponds with International Women’s Day, which will be celebrated by von Furstenberg throughout the month with a series of products and events.
To kick off the album properly, the designer and CFDA president will host an event on Monday at her New York boutique, complete with a live performance by Estelle and a graffiti wall by Vital Voices member, artist Panmela Castro-Anarkia. On March 16, the party will move to the Los Angeles DvF boutique, where singer/songwriter (and another “Proud to be Woman” contributor) Mozella will take the stage.
