Costello and Tagliapietra Tie the Knot

(NEW YORK) Additional thanks to Governor Cuomo and the Marriage Equality activists for this happy news: today, Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra made it official in a civil ceremony at Manhattan's City Hall. "We wanted to get married today because it's our 17th anniversary, and it being October 17th seemed like a good omen!" they told The Daily. "We got matching bands at Tiffany last week and are so excited to finally be wearing them—our first and only piece of jewelry."

The husband/husband team, who work together as designers of the critically acclaimed Costello Tagliapietra collection, met in 1994. Costello, a native of Bristol, PA, was designing for actresses and musicians in New York when he met Tagliapietra, a native New Yorker and Parsons grad. The two launched their brand in 2005, and they were named CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists in both 2005 and 2006. Costello Tagliapietra is sold at Barneys New York, along with specialty stores, and for Summer 2010, they collaborated with fast fashion emporium Uniqlo on a line of work-friendly dresses.
