Cosmopolitan Hires Aya Kanai As Fashion Director
(NEW YORK) Joanna Coles has poached Shopbop.com's head stylist Aya Kanai to fill the Cosmopolitan fashion director seat. The gig has been vacant since last month when Michelle McCool stepped down after 10 years in the role amid staff shuffles to pursue fashion consulting opportunities. Previously, Kanai held positions as senior fashion editor at Teen Vogue and fashion director at NYLON. She's also worked as a freelance fashion stylist and creative consultant since 2009 for brands like Cole Haan, Target, Microsoft, Victoria’s Secret, Bloomingdale's, and Macy's as well as editorial clients like Teen Vogue, Lula, Foam, The Block, Tank, and Dossier.
