Christopher Kane Partners With J.Brand
(NEW YORK) Today, J Brand announced that it has tapped Christopher Kane to design a capsule collection as part of the London-based designer's Resort 2012 collection. This project is an extension of J Brand's 5x5 project, which featured limited-edition designs by five emerging British designers. The upcoming collection, which will be sold to both J Brand and Christopher Kane retail accounts, is intended to boost Kane's business (while presumably injecting some exclusive designer savvy to the widely distributed Los Angeles-based denim brand).
“I am very excited about my new working relationship with J Brand. We have the potential to grow a very strong denim business and are thrilled to be working with the best in the business," said Kane in a statement. “We have collaborated with some of the best talent in the world and are delighted to be working with Christopher to build a long term viable denim business with him," echoed J Brand CEO Jeff Rudes. Expect the collection to hit stores in late 2011.
