(NEW YORK) Bulgari has landed prime placement on Via Rodeo. The LVMH-owned joaillier will be the 20th honoree of the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style award, which began in 2003 as a way to celebrate industry leaders for their contributions in fashion and entertainment. Vice chairman Nicola Bulgari will be on hand December 5 in Beverly Hills to accept the trademark plaque on behalf of his family. Past recipients include Giorgio Armani, Herb Ritts, Gianni Versace and Donatella Versace, Tom Ford, Mario Testino, Manolo Blahnik, Valentino Garavani, Salvatore Ferragamo, the Missoni family, Iman, and most recently, Diana Vreeland.
In other Bulgari news, the luxury brand hosted an intimate candlelit dinner Tuesday night at the Fifth Avenue flagship with a cache of well-heeled editors to fete the company's newly appointed North American president, Alberto Festa, and Isabella Rosellini, who fronts the latest ad campaign to promote Bulgari's Rosellini handbags. James Beard Award-winning chef Michael White, the mastermind behind Marea, Osteria Morini, and Ai Fiori, whipped up the delicious four-course Italian fare introed by a smiling Rosselini: "When I was a child, I dreamt of being a grown up woman and wearing Bulgari. Italy doesn't have a lot of resources and it doesn't have oil...but it has style! Buon appetito!"
