British Fashion Awards Laud Stella McCartney, Erdem, Alexa Chung, and More
(NEW YORK) The latest crop of British Fashion Awards winners were named at tonight's ceremony, held in London's Savoy Hotel. For starters, Stella McCartney scored the Designer of the Year Award, Erdem nabbed the New Establishment accolade, and Kim Jones for Louis Vuitton received the Menswear Award. McCartney topped Christopher Kane and Mary Katrantzou in the process, while Erdem bested Meadham Kirchhoff and Jonathan Saunders in the up-and-comer category. Nicholas Kirkwood was named accessory designer du year, while Emerging Talent Awards went to J.W. Anderson, Sophie Hulme, and Jonathan Saunders for the RTW, Accessories, and Menswear categories, respectively.
Also of note? Alexa Chung's win in the British Style category in a nominee pool that included Daphne Guinness, Florence Welch, and Kate Middleton. Cara Delevingne scooped up the BFA's Model Award, beating out fellow beautiful people Jourdan Dunn and David Gandy. The Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator went to Louise Wilson (runners-ups were Edward Enninful and Katie Grand), while Manolo Blahnik took home an Outstanding Achievement Award in Fashion. Additionally, Roksanda Ilincic was crowned biggest tapis rouge hit of 2012, thanks to the Red Carpet Award; the nom pool for which included Victoria Beckham, Alessandra Rich, and Stella McCartney. Next up for the slew of 13 winners: celebrating, of course!
