McQ Taps Alistair Carr
(NEW YORK) Alistair Carr's "mutual" exit from Pringle of Scotland has paid off. Last night, the designer announced his appointment as McQ's head of design. His first collection for Alexander McQueen's diffusion line will be pre-autumn/winter 2013-14 under Sarah Burton's creative control. Carr will be responsible for McQ menswear, womenswear, and accessories.
In April, Carr left Pringle of Scotland after a year stint as design director. Following the departure, he retained his role as art director of the brand's autumn/winter 2012-13 campaign and the spring/summer 2013 menswear collection until mid-June. Prior to Pringle of Scotland, he worked at Balenciaga, Marni, Cacharel, Chloé, and showed his own label for three London Fashion Week seasons.
