Alexis Bittar's New Baubles for Bloomingdales
(NEW YORK) Alexis Bittar unveiled his new collab with Bloomingdales yesterday, which he's calling the Miss Havisham collection. If that conjures up thoughts of old ladies, think again. Bittar's inspiration was a mix of Deco, New Wave and Debbie Harry. "I love Debbie Harry. I'm obsessed with her," Bittar told The Daily. "I watched this documentary about her on Virgin Air and I had forgotten how chic she was." His fave songs by Harry? Call Me and Sunday Girl.
The 19-piece jewelry collection ranges from $85 to $995 and uses rhodium, accented with matte black and white coated metal, lime green chalcedony stones lined with thin crystal. The designer remained mum on who he's collaborating with on the runways this season, but when we asked about his ideal next brand hookup on the collab front, the answer came easily. "I would love to do Comme des Garçons. Rei Kawakubo is such an amazing artist." Fingers crossed!
