Alexander Wang's New PR Maven: Tanja Ruhnke

(NEW YORK) Wang's got a fresh face in the PR department—Tanja Ruhnke is joining the brand as VP of global branding and communications, following former Alexander Wang PR honcho Leslie Rubisch's recent segue to consulting. Ruhnke joins team Wang after an eight-month stint as head of communications at rag & bone, where she was the label's first in-house rep.

While at rag & bone, Ruhnke reported directly to the label's co-designers, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, and helmed their global PR, marketing, advertising, special events, and VIP relations efforts; PR Consulting continued to handle their NYFW shows. Prior to arriving at rag & bone's New York City HQ, Ruhnke was VP of public relations at KCD Paris since 2004. Her transatlantic hopping began before her stint in the Parisian fashion flack realm, however: Ruhnke arrived at KCD via her former NYC-based gig as international communications director at Helmut Lang. 

At chez Wang, Rubisch will still be involved with the brand as a consultant, following her six-year stint heading up Wang's PR efforts.
