Alexander Wang To Show In Brooklyn Navy Yards

(NEW YORK) If he builds it, they will come. Alexander Wang has crossed boroughs by moving his show to Brooklyn this upcoming New York Fashion Week season. If there's anyone that can lure a bunch of wary editors to a far flung location, it would be Wang. Having held his show at Pier 94 in Manhattan at 5 p.m. on Saturday in previous seasons, this year the grand spectacle will be held at the Brooklyn Navy Yard at the Duggal Greenhouse at 63 Ship Ways Avenue, on the East River between Vinegar Hill and Clinton Hill.
The new time slot for his show will be 8:30 p.m. on February 8th and will be the last big show of the day. In order to make that happen, Wang switched spots with fellow designer and friend Joseph Altuzarra, who will now show at 5:00 p.m. on the same day. This is apparently a one-time change, as Wang is expected to move back to his regular time slot for the Spring collection in September. This marks yet another big logistics change to the calendar as Wang follows in the footsteps of Diane von Furstenberg and Michael Kors, who recently announced their departures from the tents to show at Spring Studios. Wang's proclivity for putting on buzzy events that leave fashion fanatics talking for days must mean the designer's got something extra show-worthy up his sleeve this season.
