Alberta Ferretti Designs for Macy's
(NEW YORK) Masstige mania continues to sweep the land as yet another high-profile designer joins the affordable luxe lineup. Alberta Ferretti will design a one-time-only Impulse line for retail giant Macy's. Inspired the Amalfi Coast, the Italian wonder will produce a 30-piece collection chock-full of chiffon knitwear, ultra-femme peasant blouses, and abstract floral prints catering to the fun-loving, late twentysomething set.
“The collection I created is fresh and bright, featuring light summer clothing that evokes the spirit of my beautiful country and is at the same time true to my style,” said Ferretti to WWD.
"She just had two very successful shows," Martine Reardon, Macy's executive VP of marketing, told WWD. "She appeals to an international consumer as well as an American consumer, and her fabrications are very soft, very feminine, chiffon-like, drapey, comfortable and really pretty, yet they look very elegant."
Ferretti is the sixth guest designer for Macy's Impulse, following in the footsteps of Matthew Williamson, Kinder Aggugini, Giambattista Valli, Karl Lagerfeld, and most recently, Doo.Ri. Expect prices to hover between $49 and $119; the collection will drop at 185 Macy's locations, available from April 17 to May 29.
