A Moment With Cindy Crawford
(NEW YORK) Cindy Crawford has teamed up with JCPenney, creating a new jewelry collection, One Kiss, which launches at the end of the month and can be purchased at JCPenney.com as well as at stores nationwide. The Daily caught up with the super to discuss her new venture, hanging out at home on the beach with her clan, and Jacuzzi malfunctions.
How did this collab come about?
One Kiss is actually my second collaboration with JCPenney. The home collection, Cindy Crawford Style, launched last year and customers have responded really well. One Kiss is timeless, but offers women a stylish way to change their look and remain true to their individual style. With prices starting at $99 for a 14K gold over sterling silver Lariat pendant necklace, this collection is truly accessible.
What's with the name?
The design is actually a henna symbol that translates to ‘kiss.’ One Kiss does not have to be romantic, it could be a mother’s kiss or affection from a friend. The collection is launching right before Mother’s Day and I plan on gifting the jewelry to my mom. Don’t tell her!
What is your most memorable piece of jewelry?
My favorite jewelry memory is from when my husband, Rande, proposed to me. He had planned to propose in the Jacuzzi of a house he was in the process of buying. He slipped the ring on his toe so I wouldn't see it. When we got into the Jacuzzi, the jets went on automatically and the ring fell off his toe. He had to grope around for it, but finally found it and surprised me with a beautiful engagement ring!
Did you shop at JCPenney growing up?
I grew up in the Midwest where everyone shopped at JCPenney. I love that my family and friends shop there and the store is accessible to everyone across the country.
Is your daughter inheriting your love of jewelry and design?
My daughter loves jewelry (just like most women!). She thinks it's especially cool that her mom has her own line. She wears the little "kiss" with the charms dangling from it.
You’re a self-proclaimed “beach girl.” Is that your favorite way to unwind?
Yes, my favorite way to relax is just hanging out at our home in Malibu with absolutely nothing on the schedule--a bike ride with the kids or a long walk on the beach with my husband!
