(NEW YORK) Walter Baker treaded the line between pretty and punk for his Fall 2009 Walter collection. There were sweet satin frocks and ladylike high-neck blouses, but many of the prettier pieces were given a tough edge with the addition of fingerless gloves à la Lagerfeld. Slightly grungier looks like plaid shirtdresses were not totally coherent, but will no doubt sell--as will an array of covetable leather jackets, from bombers to leather hoodies.
