(PARIS) Having abstained from attending the winter couture shows for the past two years—she instead got married and had a bouncing baby boy named Cyrus—couture aficionado and client Marjorie Gubelmann Raein let her fashion vice get the best of her this season. Raein landed in Paris on Monday for a quick four-day trip that involved attending a smattering of shows, a few intimate dinners—including one with friends Carlos Mota and Jamie Creel—and a bit of antiques shopping. Holed up at the Ritz, Raein—clad in her not-so-subtle leopard-print coat—conspicuously attended the Valentino, Gaultier, Givenchy, and Carven, and Chanel shows, at the last of which she sat behind Lily Safra. “I’m definitely going to buy something from Chanel but I don’t know what yet,” she said following Karl Lagerfeld’s stunning presentation. “It’s always good to see everything and then decide. But sitting in the Grand Palais on a sunny, frothy morning was unbelievable.”

So what did Raein think of the shows she attended?
Chanel: “Simple, chic, and wearable.”
Gaultier: “The pleated chiffon dresses, which were a fan of fabric like accordion pleats, was like an underwater Greek ocean.”
Valentino: “Beautiful! Always!
Givenchy: “Very, very nice! If you looked closely, there were some beautiful, beautiful pieces. The separates were exquisite.”
