Douglas Hannant - Resort 2009
(NEW YORK) Buddakan served as an apropos setting for Douglas Hannant’s Resort 2009 collection. Looks had a distinct Eastern flavor, with rich satins and luxe beading. Amber, yellow, purple and metallics created an interesting color palette while regal collars and silk brocades exuded opulence. Hannant played with proportion, adding a long train to a t-length dress and asymmetrical ruching to shifts. Pieces were fit for ladies who lunch--and that's exactly what many of those in attendance did following the show.
