Chic Report: While the arriving stars were escorted straight into a beautiful VIP area, mere mortals didn't have to wait long before their own treat for the eyes--Alessandra Facchinetti's debut. "Valentino is a timeless brand," Facchinetti explained. "It's really about singular stunning pieces with an amazing sense of approachable familiarity." Her inspiration? Valentino red, proportions, and angles which translated into a modernized collection of chic day suits and dresses, chiffon blouses with petaled necklines, vertically pleated gowns, and chiffon ruffled dresses. "I was jet-lagged, barely asleep, and tired when I came here," explained front-rower Winona Ryder. "This woke me up and shocked me in a wonderful way." Stefano Tonchi mused, "This is very Alessandra. She didn't try to make it Valentino. This was her first collection, so we must see the next few to see where she will take the brand and its essence."
