Giambattista Valli - Paris Fall 2008
(PARIS) Roll Call: Mary-Kate Olsen, Lapo Elkann, Astrid Muñoz, Matteo Marzotto, Anna Wintour, Bee Schaffer, Camilla Al Fayed
Chic Report: "The women are meant to look like Red Riding Hoods who actually eat the wolf in the end!" explained Giambattista Valli of his Fall 2008 collection. "The fur is growing, the colors are growing, the passion is growing with every look!" And grow it did--from cream silhouettes in the beginning to statment-making blood red at the end, Valli's interest in volume was apparent in the cocooning fur capes, rounded silhouettes, sloping shoulder-lines, lightweight padding, and fur-trimmed cape-backed coats. Roopal Patel raved, "This is a tour de force of creativity, and Giambattista Valli has truly expressed what his signature is!"
