Bottega Veneta - Milan Fall 2008
(MILAN) Roll Call: Linda Fargo, Kate Betts, Cathy Horyn, Linda Wells, Robbie Myers, Joe Zee, Alexis Bryan, Carla and Franca Sozzani
Chic Report: Tomas Maier's fall ideas were focused indeed. Well-wrought silhouettes, luxe fabric, and a lush color palette drawn from the evocative, painterly hues of a nighttime sky (dusky blues, purples, moonlit greys, and midnight blacks). Wearability was all, like the purple coat with ruffled detailing, the little black jacket with tiny puffed sleeves, the cap-sleeved, russet wool suit, and the series of perfectly draped dressed in black, camel, and olive green. "The most beautiful collection I've ever seen," raved Julie Gilhart. "I loved the hip-hop, I loved the paper-soft leather trench, and the purple satin pieces were wow! The quality of this house is just beyond."
