Moschino Cheap & Chic - Milan Fall 2008
(MILAN) Roll Call: Franca Sozzani, Anna Piaggi, Alexis Bryan, Cindi Leive, Michael Carl, Kate Lanphear, Annabel Tollman, Michael Fink, Kim France, Ron Frasch
Chic Report: The show’s artistic invitation read: “I’ve got a lot on my mind,” and that message played out on a printed tee but also in the plethora of prints and details. Painted florals, multicolored sequins, beading, and color-blocking added to the intrigue. A classic tuxedo pantsuit in cream was followed by a rock-and-roll version in red metallic that paid homage to Ziggy Stardust. “This collection had a good feeling; it felt like New York or London,” said Piaggi. “It was very stylized with a metropolitan spirit but with that Italian craftsmanship and attention to detail.” Accessories were particularly strong this season. Red patent leather mary janes, bright bow bags, and leather driving gloves with bows at the wrists caused many editors to oooh and ahh.
