Gareth Pugh - London Fall 2008
(LONDON) Roll Call: Walking: Coco Rocha
Chic Report: Gareth Pugh's fall show is still the talk of the town. Held at a dark venue in gritty East London, Pugh commanded his confident Amazon women strutting down the catwalk in a few ensembles that might've been straight out of Alien. Case in point: Rocha's first exit, an intricately constructed dress forged of zippers and oversized shoulder pads. There was something sinister and intimidating about Pugh's all-black creations, as if his woman only reveals herself at night. Outfitted in PVC trouser-suits and cubic boleros, at least she has sufficient armor.
