Giambattista Valli - Paris Fashion Week Spring 2008
(PARIS) Artist Dan Flavin's use of color and light was the inspiration for Valli's collection. And color was certainly abundant, as was volume--bold shades of pink, neon yellow, black, white, cream, and icy blue marched down the runway in loose, flowy, and layered pieces. Looks were accessorized with turquoise clunky necklaces, obi belts, the sparing use of feathers on dresses and coats, and super-high platform sandals. A white dress with a belt gathering had pink fabric detailing, while a new silhouette was introduced--a flat back with cocoon front. Metallics emerged in silver mini dresses, coats, and a silver chain link print.
