Missoni - Milan Spring Fashion Week 2008
(MILAN) The soundtrack may have been playing James Brown's "It's a man's world", but Missoni's spring collection proved that this world is nothing without women. Inspired by "a mirage, weaving tales, revelation, a kaleidoscope of emotions igniting a never-ending EXPLOSION where shapes and colors are shattered," the collection was a mix of bold florals, abstract shapes and prints, and hyperchromatic space dyes. Feminity was played up as huge flowers dominated dresses and splashes of patterned colors broke up the mostly neutral canvases. Full ruffled sleeves on jackets, hourglass motifs on dresses, polka dot-studded miniskirts, and embroidery mixed with a rainbow of hues including cyclamen, sulfur yellow, malachite green, and anthracite to create a collection bursting with energy.
