Burberry Prorsum - Milan Fashion Week Spring 2008
(MILAN) Christopher Bailey channeled a warrior as his vision for Burberry Prorsum’s spring collection which displayed military embellishments in the form of metal, mesh, and braiding. Typical trademark squares were only slightly represented geometrically, while the majority of pieces focused on nude and light colors with tulle, silk chiffon, and taffeta, giving off the English attitude of the brand. With a focus on the outerwear, the signature trench stood out with storm flaps and belts. His collection gently mixed the elegant look of the fabrics with the military aspect, mixing the soft fabrics with the harder looks of pleating. Trademark Burberry accessories such as studded cuffs and belts and ankle socks worn with platform T-straps completed the looks.
