Just Cavalli - Milan Fashion Week Spring 2008
(MILAN) The Just Cavalli Spring 2008 collection, "La Mia Africa," was inspired by perpetual memories from Cavalli's youthful travels and a broad range of African art. Looks incorporate woodsy tones, stones, and elements of ceremonial dress including patchwork, leather, fringe, metallic detailing, and flowing layers. The ethnic and exotic collection mixed the natural with the urban, seen in exotic bracelets paired with steel chains or a pink jungle print look paired with a transparent vinyl rain jacket. Bright colors--including fuchsia, yellow red, and aqua--in bold geometric patterns and cut-out swimsuits, created a modern tribal aesthetic. Cavalli took the idea of being young and "free as a bird" quite literally with feathered skirts and embellishments.
