Matthew Williamson - London Fashion Week Spring 2008
(LONDON) Matthew Williamson's show this season, in one word? Magnificent! Williamson, whose 10 year retrospective will be shown at the Design Museum from October 17 until January 31, showed fluo body-hugging dresses accessorized with sequined belts out of a Masai Mara-inspired theme and lots of beading and prints inspired by tribal African and South American art, on silk or georgette shirts, and cotton smock dresses. As Trudie Styler put it, "He is always transforming himself, therefore transforming women, and he has many influences from eras in the past. I think he reinvigorated Pucci with something that really feels new and modern. That is his great calling card."-
