See You in Tashkent
(NEW YORK) If you’ve mentally retired from the long fashion season, you might have to hold that thought for one more week. After New York, London, Milan, and Paris, this week the fashion caravan is landing in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. And the whole event is not as abstract as it sounds. Fourth Style.uz Art Week is organized by, among others, Dr. Gulnara Karimova (you know her as top couture client Guli), who's gotten the likes of Ines de la Fressange, DSquared2, and Guy Laroche to show in her country’s capital in the past.
This year’s line-up is perhaps the most impressive one yet. Guests will be treated to complete fashion shows by Valentino, Sonia Rykiel, and Oscar de la Renta. Chopard's Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, who collaborated on a line with Karimova, will host an evening for the luxe jewelry brand, and Guli will present her own new jewels during a lavish affair. And if that wasn’t enough, Style.uz Art Week will be capped off by a Sting concert at the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre on Saturday.
